You’ve probably heard the same trusty Halloween safety tips since the first time you went trick-or-treating such as don’t go out alone, take a flashlight, don’t eat unwrapped candy, careful with that broomstick around the Jack-O-Lanterns.

These “lucky 13″ safety tips are for parents to share with their trick-or-treaters to prevent injuries at Halloween.

- Plan you route and share it with your family. If possible, have an adult go with you.

- Wear light-colored or reflective type clothing so you are more visible.
(And remember to put reflective tape on bikes, skateboards and brooms, too!)

- Use face paint rather than masks or things that will cover your eyes.

- Cross the street only at corners.

- Look both ways befor crossing the street to check for cars, trucks and low-flying brooms.

- Don’t hide or cross the street between parked cars.

- Walk, slither and sneak on sidewalks; not in the street.

- Carry a flashlight to light your way;

- Only visit homes that have the porch light on.

- Use a light stick instead of a wick! Candles used in pumplinks are a fire hazard. (Also, keep in mind that costumes can be extremely flammable)

- Accept you treats at the door and never go into a stanger’s house.

- Be cautlous of strangers and animals.

- Have a grown-up inspect your treats before eating. And don’t eat candy if the package is already opened. Small, hard pieces of candy are a choking hazard for young children.

German furniture designer Marco Hemmerling is very good at creating chairs in different shapes, this time he show us the latest products of FLIP for kids, a type of candy chair made of colorful foam designed for children specially.

The shape of chair is very like the QQ sugar we eat formerly, it is made of extremely light weight foam thus to provide kids with more imagination, kids can turn over the chair with little effort, and the chair in varied angles can also become a different chair, or it can be tossed here and there easily, and we always believed that kids are born with the ability to throw things.

Best Indoor Toy for Active Play for Young Kids – 1-2-3 Stomp for Wild Planet

Posted by admin | Posted in Toys for kids 3+ years | Posted on 12-07-2012

Don’t let bad weather or other barriers to outdoor play keep your kids slumped on the sofa. Try one of these active, indoor toys designed to get children moving, learning, and laughing. These indoor toys are best for kids ages 3 to 8.

One in a series of Wild Planet toys that combine physical play with learning (see also: Hyper Dash and Hyper Blast), this game helps kids learn numbers and pre-math skills while staying on their feet and active. It’s designed for 1 to 4 players.

1-2-3 Stomp from Wild Planet is designed to get kids active while learning number skills. Stomp is designed for kids 3-5 and supports multi-player gameplay.

Working with 1-2-3 Stomp is pretty straightforward. There are four modes of play, that range from basic number sequences to early stage math. There’s also a cooperative mode which is fun to play with friends or a family member.

To get started with any of the games, kids are prompted to stomp on the stomp button. The stomping bit is pretty humorous. The older kids that tested Hyper Blast had no problem smashing the stomp button to play. But for some reason the younger kids who tested out 1-2-3 Stomp had some hesitation about stomping on the game. That didn’t last long though, after a bit of encouragement, they were stomping and laughing every time the digits went blasting through the air.

Once the numbers are lunched, kids have to scurry about to find and replace the correct number in its slot. Depending on the child, this might be a bit of a challenge, as the dexterity required to get some of the numbers back in their clips might pose a problem. Younger kids will likely be working with a parent or older sibling though, so it’s not a huge deal. Just be prepared to help until kids can handle the game on their own.

The only other negative we noted is that the call outs from the speaker can be a bit repetitive since it took younger kids a little while to return the proper number, they often heard the same request several times before they could re-seat the number. This bothered parents more than the kids though, as you might expect.

Otherwise 1-2-3 Stomp is another solid effort from Wild Planet and for $20, provides excellent value for an active learning game. Kids who are learning numbers and ready for early math problems will have a lot of fun launching the numbers, then retrieving them. Parents can feel good about their kids being active and learning, it’s definitely a win for everyone.

* Warning:

- Choking alert.

- Contains small parts.

- Not for children below 3 years
